Enabling Customers to Add Maps to Mileage and Other Expense Report Categories
Plymouth Meeting,PA–Sept. 16, 2014–ExpenseWatch today announced that it has integrated MapQuest mapping technology in the Expense Reports module of its comprehensive spend management software, allowing customers to add maps to mileage and any other expense category.
“While the most common use of maps will allow expense report submitters to quickly and easily calculate mileage from a trusted source, the new mapping feature also enables customers to configure maps to be used with any expense category,” said Bill Vergantino, president and CEO of ExpenseWatch. “The ability to map where spending occurs empowers customers with visibility to employee spending from a geographical perspective which can be important for analysis, trending or approval purposes.”
The new maps feature, allows submitters to save maps, enabling them to quickly add mileage traveled to repeated destinations, such as trips between home and the airport or client sites. Maps can be attached as both a static image, similar to how receipts are attached, and as an interactive map. Multiple maps can be saved to one expense line item to document multiple distances or locations.
As approvers review expense reports, they have full visibility to attached and interactive maps to support approval decisions. As mapping data is added to mileage and other categories, reports can be generated that show the geographic perspective of spending. For example, a sales manager can analyze where sales representatives have traveled and what expenses are associated with activities. Perhaps, this visibility can showcase if two reps are working the same area or if part of a rep’s territory is being under or over serviced.
